Wheatland Elementary's Temporary Shift to At-Home Learning
April 27th, 2021
Dear Wheatland Elementary Parents, Students, and Staff,
As you are aware, the Strathmore area is currently experiencing a very high number of active Covid cases in the community. Unfortunately, some of those community cases have impacted our school and a number of our staff and students must self isolate as per the provincial health order. As a result of the number of students and staff that are currently isolating, we are now in a situation where we must move to a temporary period of at-home learning.
Beginning tomorrow, April 28th , all classes at Wheatland Elementary School will move to learning at home. This is a temporary measure during these periods of self-isolation and in-school learning will resume on Monday, May 10th .
Online at-home classes will begin tomorrow morning and will follow a classroom schedule established by your child’s teacher. Teachers will be in communication with their students with more specific details tomorrow. Please call our office if you have unique circumstances or require other considerations for learning support.
We look forward to welcoming all students back on May 10th and encourage all our families to continue to follow the provincial health orders.
During this time of at home learning, I want to encourage all our families to follow the provincial health protocols. I also want to thank our families for regularly using the daily screening tool. With the high number of cases it is more important than ever we continue to follow the health orders and upon our return to in person learning on May 10th I want to remind parents to continue to use this daily symptom screening tool before students come to school. This screening tool is available online and can be found here:https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/COVID-Self-Assessment.aspx
Please do not hesitate to call our school office if you have any questions about the shift to at-home learning for the reminder of this week and the week following.
