As we enter the Christmas Season, we often look for ways to reach out and help those in need. We invite our families to participate in our annual “Jump into Jammies, Socks, Slippers or Stuffies” event. This program is in support of the Wheatland Crisis Society Shelter. Approximately 285 children, aged infant to teenagers pass through the shelter each year. These children often arrive with very few personal belongings. By giving a child in need a new pair of pajamas, socks, slippers or a stuffie we can help them feel comfortable and cared for, as they go through a difficult time in their lives. Each student is welcome to bring their donations to their classroom. Grade 5A students will collect from December 9 - 20, 2019 and also use this data to complete a math graphing unit on measurement. We will celebrate this event on December 20 when all students are invited to wear their own jammies, slippers and bring stuffies to school too. Thank-you for helping Wheatland Elementary School make a difference in our community.
